Powdermill Nature Reserve Recreation Maps

Powdermill Nature Reserve, the 2,200 acre environmental research center of Carnegie Museum of Natural History, has been dedicated to its mission of research, education, and conservation for more than 50 years. Additionally, Powdermill offers recreational opportunities for the entire family.

Our nature center is open free to the public.
April 1-November 15
Tuesday-Saturday, 9 a.m.-4:30 p.m.
Sunday, noon-4:30 p.m.
Closed Monday

November 16-March 31
Wednesday-Saturday, 9 a.m.-4:30 p.m.
Sunday, noon-4:30 p.m.
Closed Monday and Tuesday

Powdermill Nature Reserve Hiking Trails (PDF) are open dawn to dusk.

Additionally, there are five geocaches located along the Black Birch Trail near the nature center. See the geocaches PDF map.
